So as it turns out, all of that chaos about job searching etc. was unnecessary (for the moment)... because I'm going to ITALY!!! I have a feeling this blog will be used much more frequently and for (hopefully) less self indulgent reasons (as now I seem to type on and on about the future, therapeudically however). It will rather serve to keep others updated and share pictures of all my new experiences. I will live with a family in Bologna for three months. They have two children, a boy 15 and a girl 10. I'll have my own room and the first half of each day plus weekends free. There are so many wonderful people at my internship at Paciugo right now that are giving me so many great tips and bits of advice, along with setting me up with people that they know in Bologna so that I hopefully won't ever be lonely.
It will be a different Italy than most Americans imagine I think... because it will be covered in snow!! Hopefully it will prepare me well for a new life up north. What I most look forward to at the moment is improving my Italian and immersing myself in a new culture, no matter how scary or different.
My time in Italy will be a new, yet somewhat brief, chapter of my life that I cannot wait to open. Until then... I'm trying to remember to savour every last moment of this chapter of my life at SMU, which I'm sure, at some point, I will miss. I have some great friends here that I'll be very sad to be far from. My whole life and lifestyle will go through a dramatic change. My solution?: I will begin to write an extensive book list of everything I wanted to read while I was an undergraduate but I never had the time. This could take a while....
A presto

Ciao!
I know nothing about blogging, except that lately it seems to become more and more necessary. Every internship/job that I find online, at least in my sort-of area of expertise, if you will, requires knowledge in blogging and social networking... so I better get started!
This blog title should do two things.
1)Tell that I will graduate too soon (December!) with a B.A. in English, and I am fretting a bit, as I can only assume most English majors without a specific field (other than further study or education) do.
and 2)Inform that I am quite in love with Broadway. Although I have not actually seen Avenue Q, I do own the title song of this blog. Every time I get the chance to see a show there just always happens to be something better-sounding than Avenue Q... sorry puppets.
Finalmente, I feel the other main important thing about me/my school/my career oriented blog is that I am minoring in Italian (hence the title). I'm not fluent, but I can carry on conversations quite well, albeit slow.
I find this first entry a frightening resemblance to most English paper topic directions...
Buonanotte!
